There’s been a lot of discussion around the type of reviews that people might create on StreetAdvisor.
In only the first few days we’ve had several thousand reviews with over 70,000 streets visited, we know it’s going to take time to receive reviews from every street, but like so many other sites powered by user generated content, we knew this from the start.
Since opening up the site to the world, we’ve had reviews from all parts of the globe, from London, to New York, from Canada to Australia and as far away as Denmark, Germany and Brazil. Many have spoken about their neighbors, the schools across the road, the traffic or the ethnic diversity in their neighborhood.
Contrary to the belief that most would be biased toward rating their street perfectly we’ve had an extraordinary amount of honesty. While many have shown praise for their streets a high percentage have highlighted the opposite.
StreetMember, “Brookenovak” said about Howell Mill Rd NW, Atlanta, GA:
“I enjoyed the more industrial edge that kept most people away for a while - it is becoming crowded and noisy as the trend setters start moving in and housing prices are really starting to move up out of the affordable range.”

From Canada, “viveroo” wrote a lengthy review on Corporate Dr, Toronto ON
“Despite the number of advantages I have listed the general "bad attitude" in this neighbourhood makes it highly undesirable. So I don't recommend it to anyone."

“ccaster” called Maize Bend Dr, Austin, TX "A good street with a only a couple of bad apples”.

“asy32002” sounded very unhappy about N Kingsley Dr, Los Angeles, CA:
“I guess realtors call this area up and coming because of the relatively low rent and close approximation to west hollywood, but I'm waiting for my one year lease to be over so we can move :)”

StreetMember, “Podmate” was typical of the honesty of reviewers in describing Bradford Dr, Little Rock, AR:
“Bradford Drive is a fantastic street, has a very good mix of familes with young kids, families with older kids and retirees. The street is very quite and has very little traffic. The neighbors all look out for each other and help support each other in difficult times." But also mentioned, “There are only 2 downsides to living here”

While some of the reviews have been less than flattering about their streets, many have provided very useful tidbits of information for people looking to move into an area or for locals that may not know the area they live in.
StreetMember “Infiniteloop” said about S Pearl St, Denver, CO:
“The really cool thing, for me at least, is that I have coffee just across the street, A tennis court 3 blocks down and two parks within quick walking distance.”

“Kali” wrote about W 74th St, New York, NY
"A quiet, dog-friendly street to live on the upper west side with a private school preschool on the block…there's great clothes shopping on Columbus, four blocks away from the best coffee shop on the upper west side, The Coffee Bean."

It's exciting for us at StreetAdvisor that we have been able to provide an opportunity for people throughout the world to talk about something that makes up a big part of their lives, the street in which they live. We always believed that people are very passionate about where they live and while it’s only early days, the quality of reviews is starting to show we might be on to something.

Kare, thanks for your comment. Sausalito looks to be a beautiful place to live.
You can write about any street that you have knowledge on. We've had people write about the street where they vacation, the street where they work and many have written about where they lived previously. Just remember to keep the information honest and relevant.
Keep the reviews coming and we appreciate the support.

is there a way to write about a neaarby street that is important in our lives - good or bad?
I live in the village of Sausalito (did a review of my street on a hill) and also spend considerable time on Caledonia - the street for locals as compared to tourists... cozy restaurants, live music, easy to gather.... - Kare, LaborFair
