How realtors can make the most of StreetAdvisor.com

StreetAdvisor exists to provide useful and practical information about streets to residents, potential property buyers, visitors and even travelers. We're also becoming popular with realtors, who are very sophisticated in their internet marketing these days.

In his Agent Overload blog post, Joe Fernandez argues that:

"Agents need to perform their own social marketing analysis and figure out which sites best fit their customer base and business style."

StreetAdvisor has started to receive contributions from several realtors, and we'd like to thank them for their interest. We think we are a natural fit: we collect, aggregate and publish local property information at the street and neighborhood levels, and realtors are usually experts in one or more suburbs or local areas and are keen to demonstrate their professionalism and local knowledge to potential clients.

The great thing about StreetAdvisor user profiles is that they allow users to promote their personal or business name and their website. By writing reviews that reveal their local expertise, users are being visibly associated with the streets and neighborhoods in StreetAdvisor that they know best. Here's two realtors who are making clever use of StreetAdvisor to promote their businesses. We expect that many more will soon join them.

Realtor Michelle Heeden King is HeedenKing in StreetAdvisor. She's actively promoting her real estate business and has written two reviews of streets in Fuquay-Varina, North Carolina (CityScore 76.96). Michelle has also written a blog post about StreetAdvisor: How is it where you live? Thanks so much Michelle, we really like your initiative.

Realtor Bill Gassett is REMAX in StreetAdvisor, and he's written a review of Whitman Lane, Hopkinton, Massachusetts (StreetScore 88.79). He's promoting his business Metrowest MA Real Estate and like Michelle he's kindly written about us in his blog in Active Rain: Street Advisor - Be The Local Expert For Your Street & Town! Thanks Bill, your enthusiasm is much appreciated.

Realtors looking for new ways to promote their local knowledge and expertise may find that reviewing streets in StreetAdvisor gives them a competitive advantage and a greater online profile. So, start writing!

I enjoy following your blog! The Bend Oregon real estate market continues to slow. It looks like a good time to buy in your market.

Hi Brian - I should of thought of this sooner but you should join Active Rain as a vendor to promote your Street Advisor site. You could create a profile and a blog that would reach the 67,000+ members of Active Rain. This would be a great opportunity for you. Here is the link to join: http://activerain.com/action/referrals/metrowesthomes - just paste that into your browser. Active Rain is FREE.

Brian - Glad I could be of help making others aware of Street Advisor. Thank you for making mention of my post on Active Rain and for displaying the picture of the common in my home town, Hopkinton MA. Best of luck with the continued success of Street Advisor.
